International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school before applying. You must be able to work 40 hours per week. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

The Internship Recruiting Team is driven by the passion to recognize emerging talent. Our year-round program places the best students in positions where they will grow both technically and personally through their experience working closely with their manager, mentor, and team. We are dedicated to providing an experience that allows for the intern to experience life at Tesla by giving them projects that are critical to their team’s success.

What You’ll Do
About the Team
Our team is aligned around three pillars - Design, Build and Operate. Focused on optimizing the space we have, finding the best solutions to our immediate term expansion needs, and devising and driving our long-term strategy. All of this under the guiding principle of sustainability.
Qualified applicants may be reviewed and considered by one or more of the following teams:
- Support the design and construction of a variety of new and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities in our high-tech facilities across the U.S.
- Work with multidiscipline project teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Piping/Plumbing
- MEP) professionals.
- Conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations.
- Make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgement.
- Complete field work independently or with the design team
- Support preparation of design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules in Revit
What You’ll Bring
- Currently working towards BS MS or Advanced degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering
- Previous work experience in a related engineering field
- Ability to work with a diverse team
- Working knowledge of US building codes and structural design standards
- Primary structural coursework completed prior to start of internship
- Experience in structural design of buildings or industrial structures
- Experience with Revit Structural, RISA 3D, or ETABs
- Fundamentals of Engineer (FE) Test taken/passed
- Ability to work independently
