Business Analyst
Tesla is seeking a Business Analyst to help grow and shape the future of the Semi business to best meet Tesla’s mission of accelerating the transition to sustainable energy. The Business Analyst will perform deep research on global heavy-duty vehicle markets to create demand forecasts, pricing models and market entry strategies to guide sales team activities. This role will also partner with engineering and finance teams to develop business cases for future Semi product features and services. This person will utilize their knowledge and analysis of the heavy-duty and commercial vehicle industries and emerging trends to provide guidance to senior leadership on critical business decisions. With this broad scope of responsibilities, this person must be flexible and adapt to the dynamic needs of a high-growth business and fast-paced work environment. This role requires strong analytical skills, a team-oriented disposition and a structured approach to solving problems and managing data.
What You’ll Do
- Market Modeling – develop forward views of market conditions to inform sales team activities across all regions.
- Market Research – deep analysis of global truck markets and regulatory factors to inform Semi operational economic models.
- Demand Forecasting – create global demand forecasts for Semi products based on volume levers such as pricing, new product introduction and market expansion.
- Business Model Development – analyze new geographies, applications, product features and business models for heavy trucks. Develop associated business cases and implement new market entry strategies.
- Internal Fleet Analysis – develop analysis including total cost of ownership to support deployment of Semi for internal logistics operations.
- Competitive Intelligence – understand emerging industry trends and educate the rest of the company to inform strategy, offerings, and products accordingly.
What You’ll Bring
- Very strong analytical skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, or related background
- 3+ years of work experience in finance, business operations, supply chain, management consulting and/or other related fields
- Experience in heavy-duty vehicle industry or broad understanding of the industry a strong plus
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and build organic support for key initiatives
- High proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel (SQL, Python a strong plus)
- Ability to work within a fluid, fast-paced and demanding work environment
